What is Hypnotherapy

WHAT IS HYPNOTHERAPY?

Hypnotherapy is the use of hypnosis as a tool for the implementation of therapy to access the unconscious mind and free us from the processes that often inhibit our behaviour and subsequent ability to live the life we want.

Hypnosis is a state of deep relaxation that you allow yourself to enter, during which most people remain completely aware of what is happening and able to choose whether to accept suggestions offered by the therapist or to bring themselves out of hypnosis spontaneously.

Many people liken hypnosis to daydreaming, it is a relaxing and pleasant experience, and if there is a sudden need or desire for you to come out of hypnosis for whatever reason, then you will be able to do so.

Once the therapy session is complete, you will be gradually and smoothly guided towards the normal alert and awake state, you will feel comfortable and relaxed as if you have had a wonderful calm restful sleep. Most people when they experience hypnosis are surprised at how wonderful they feel after each session and how far removed hypnosis is from common held misconceptions of mind control, realising it is an incredibly powerful and incredibly pleasant healing tool.

Hypnotherapy incorporates elements of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) & Psychotherapy. The method & type of therapy used will be decided following your initial consultation & may change as your therapy progresses.
